The Philadelphia Persian Society is a non-profit organization whose
primary purpose is to further a greater sense of culture among Persian-Americans
living throughout the Delaware Valley. Through a combination of cultural,
social, educational, and charitable events, the Society intends to promote a new
generation of Persian-American cooperation, advocacy, and empowerment.
The
Philadelphia Persian Society's goal is not to be considered a Persian
organization with American roots, nor is to be considered an American
organization with Persian members. Its purpose is to serve Persian-Americans and
their combined interests. The Society invites all interested parties to join and
help make this organization grow and prosper well into the next century.
The
Philadelphia Persian Society (PPS) is a Pennsylvania based non-profit organization. PPS is
neither affiliated with any political nor religious organizations. Its objectives are to
constantly define, promote, and encourage a new sense of culture among Persian-Americans.
In addition, the Philadelphia Persian Society intends to enhance and advocate increased
intercultural dialogue between Persian-Americans and individuals from other nationalities
and ethnicities. Membership is extended to all individuals 18 years or older, regardless
of sex, race, creed, nationality, color, sexual orientation, or political beliefs.
The
Directors of PPS are Persian-Americans who have spent a majority of their lives in the
greater Philadelphia area. With the help and backing of its members, PPS will strive to
bring you a variety of social, cultural, educational, and charitable events. After having
been active participants in the Persian Societies of local universities, one of the goals
of the Directors is to unify a broad base of Persian-Americans; both with collegiate and
non-collegiate ties.
